B.K Gupta Memorial Tournament

This cricket tournament was organized for the 7th time by Bal Bhavan International School, Dwarka, New Delhi, in the memory of Sh. B. K. Gupta Ji, one of the founder members of Bal Bhavan International School to motivate students and provide a platform to realize excellence in sports. The tournament had been arranged for the students to learn about the right spirit of competition and to acknowledge the potential, hard work and determination that the players have.
The tournament had its opening ceremony on the 4th December 2017, 9:00 am in the morning whereas 23rd December , 2017 marked its closing. The closing ceremony was attended by imperial management members, Mr. B.B Gupta Ji Chairman Group of Bal Bhavan Schools, Mr. Deepesh Gupta Manager group of Bal Bhavan Schools, Principal Mr. Kunal Gupta . Mr. Manas Bhattacharjee, Asst. Secretary Vivekanand International Foundation, Shri Dharampal Ji Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Vinod Matta National Selector SGFI, Mr. Vinod Sharma Sr. Coach at Delhi Daredevils graced the occasion with their presence.

It was 3 weeks tournament and had 20 teams from all over India to be a part of it. It was a pleasure and an absolute delight to witness students with such talent. The confidence of the students was actually the highlight. The concluding match after 20 days was held between the home team and Amenity Public School, Uttrakhand. Where, Amenity School after winning the toss chose to bat first and gave the target of 99 runs. With the help of our tremendous performers, specifically Dev Lakra Captain of the team scored 86* runs with the help of stupendous 11 sixes and 4 boundaries off 26 balls the BBIS team easily chased the target in only 6 overs and lift the Cup for the 5th time . Dev Lakra declared as Man of the Match and also Man of the Series because of his tremendous score of 176 runs inclusive 20 sixes and 11 fours with the strike rate of 279 in the tournament. Chirag Gupta’s electrifying fielding led him to bag best fielder of the tournament. Shubham Bisht from home team declared as best Batsman, whereas Best Bowler, Sachin Verma from Drona Public School, Gurugram and Best Wicket Keeper, Sarvesh Rohilla from Amenity Public School stole the hearts with their outstanding skills.
Bal Bhavan Group of Schools was absolutely happy to present laurels to the most deserving ones. The school hope that players and coaches will remember their experience here at this field for the rest of their lives.
