Republic Day Celebration

“Saluting India! Where each bud blooms in its true colours where each day is celebration of unity harmony and synthesis”

26th of January is a gala day for every Indian. On 26th Jan. 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and our country, India became the Republic.

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Bal Bhavan International School on 25th January2019 with great zeal and patriotic fervour. A colourful programme was presented by class VIII students. The day began with the morning prayers. Afterwards, the school Vice Principal, Ms. Jaspreet Kaur unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem.  The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to upholding the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”. Students enlightened everyone with their motivating and patriotic speech. The choir group presented the patriotic song. The whole school joined the choir and the song reverberated in the surroundings.

‘Unity in Diversity’ has been one of the great characteristic of our nation which has bind people of all religions together in one bond of humanity. People living in various states are generally differ in their speaking language, culture, traditions, clothes, festivals, look, etc (known to be like Bengalis, Maharastrians, Punjabis, Tamilians, etc); however they tell themselves Indian which shows their unity. Students presented a slice of every corner of the country. They represented various states, their culture and heritage by wearing traditional dresses and costumes and spoke few lines in regional language. This was followed by a skit which demonstrated the importance of our Fundamental Rights and Duties. The programme concluded with the patriotic group dance performance full of great pomp and dignity, Students were dressed as freedom fighters and they set the stage on fire with their energetic performance.

The whole programme of Republic day was gratifying. The programme ended with the distribution of sweets. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. The students dispersed with the image of the fluttering tricolor in their minds.
