The interactions with the real world are not only for the pursuit of information and for a successful career, but also a part of the pursuit of inner self. Socrates has rightly said “know thyself”. One of the important goals of the schools is to help students acquire the knowledge, attitude and skills to live effectively in a pluralistic society and to interact in diverse groups and in the wider world. Students explore questions regarding their self and higher purpose of life. A good education is the prime concern of most parents. Undoubtedly it is the most critical investment in life. To make a beginning one needs to visualize the end and chart the course of journey. Education is something larger than instruction and learning. Each child has his God given capacities and talents and limitations. Everyone is not born a Newton or Einstein. All of us know that intelligence is multi-faceted. It is not only IQ but also emotional intelligence and social intelligence.
As the academic year comes to an end there is much to thank god for and there is much to pay for. I wish to conclude with a motivational quote from Swami Vivekanand , “Arise, awake, and stop not till the goal is reached.”
