World No Tobacco Day: Tobacco and Heart Disease

 Tobacco use is falling, but not fast enough

 LAST DAY OF EVERY MONTH IS DRY DAY FOR TOBACCO IN DELHI

Bal Bhavan International School observed ‘Anti-Tobacco Day’ with much enthusiasm and fervor. A special assembly was conducted by the students wherein the staff members and students took a pledge to keep them desist from tobacco use. The following sensations were part of the day: -

 

  • Monitors were appointed to keep a check
  • Proper guidance was given
  • Pledge was taken
  • Ill-effects of its consumption were informed.
  • Copy of pledge put on the notice boards
  • An interactive session with the Doctors from Venkateshwara hospital

While many people are aware tobacco use increases the risk of cancer, there are alarming gaps in knowledge of the cardiovascular risks of tobacco use.

The school authority even took an initiative by guiding all the helping staff all the ill-effects of using tobacco.

Even a poster making competition was held wherein the students prepared posters and displayed them around with the message on the negative effects of the use of tobacco.
