Baisakhi Celebration

The greatness of a culture can be found in its festivals

Religious festivals are an important way to educate and sensitize our children about how we can transform our lives, from living superficially to something dignified and respectfully worthwhile. The festive fervour of the Harvest Festival of Baisakhi was very much alive in the corridors of the school. The rhythm of the day was set with the special assembly conducted in the morning. There were dance performance, musical recitals and talk about the day. Thereafter the significance of the day was discussed with the students in their respective classes through PPT and handouts. The students participated in turban and dhol decoration, corn craft activity and danced to the tunes of Punjabi folk songs. The motive was to apprise the children of their own culture and heritage amongst the joyful cheers of Happy Baisakhi!
