BBIS celebrates ‘SHUBH NAVRATRI’

The Sharad Navratri Festival was celebrated by the school with exuberance. The festival is associated with the prominent battle that took place between Goddess Durga and Demon Mahishasura and celebrates the victory of Good over Evil. These nine days are solely dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine Avatars – the Nava Durga. Each day is associated to an incarnation of the Goddess herself. On this occasion,  Ma Ambika Stuti was organized by the students of class I and II. The children learnt why the occasion is celebrated and how the rituals are performed. Story of the Goddess was shown to the students on virtual platforms through videos and PPT. Students made ‘Toran’ with mango leaves and also rejoiced by doing ‘Garba’. In class II, nine girls were chosen from each section representing the Nine Avatars, they shared the significance of that particular incarnation. Other students of the class recited Durga Shloka along with its meaning. All the students were dressed up ethnically and presented themselves vivaciously. Students of class III to V made video presentation for each of the nine days of the auspicious ‘Navratri’ thereby detailing the significance of each. These videos were then circulated to other classes and hence all the students got to receive the Divine Blessings of the Goddess.
