The Independence Day commemorates the brave young men who gave up their lives to liberate India from the manacles of thralldom.
Bal Bhavan International School celebrated 73rd Independence Day with full enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Mr. Kunal Gupta, Principal of the school unfurled the tricolour flag and all sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. The Principal addressed the gathering, appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility.
A cultural programme was organised in which students of choir group sang a patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our Mother Land. After that there was a skit about Bhagat Singh depicting his struggle for independence. The skit covered everyone in the spirit of patriotism. Students gave a scintillating dance performance. Speeches were given by the students with exuberance. A sweet melodious patriotic song was sung by class IX student. The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the students and teachers. The programme left everyone spell bound.
It was a new awakening, the advent of a new dawn which marked the bright morning of 15th August 1947 when India woke up to its Independence. But, our Independence was not served to us in a platter; rather, it was a result of continuous efforts and supreme sacrifice of many valuable lives that gave us the free nation that we breathe in today.
To pay homage to all the Freedom Fighters and other National Heroes, the students of Class 2 at BBIS participated in the activity -“Our Real Heroes” where they dressed up as their favorite Freedom Fighter or National Hero and spoke a few lines about them. This activity enriched one and all with the knowledge of the supreme contribution of each one of them and filled the vicinity with the aura of patriotism and respect for all those who lived and died for our Nation
