World Food Day

Grow, Nourish, Sustain. Together….

          BBIS celebrates World Food Day

In the words of Giving people access to quality and nutritious food is a fundamental human right. Everyone must live well and to live well they must eat well. The celebration of World Food Day by the students of the school carried the same theme. A special Assembly by Care and Share Club of the school stimulated everyone to be more determined than ever to eradicate the problems of food wastage and hunger. A video presentation, poem recitation and pledge by the students inspired all the viewers to do their bit and take actions that will build up a remarkable future for all. Adding on to the insightful journey of food from farm to plate were ‘well-thought and aptly-organized’ virtual activities. Students of class I with their chef hats could be seen participating in ‘Kidzees Kitchenette’ where they prepared healthy but non-flame dishes with the assistance of their teacher. Class II students presented regional dishes and also spoke on the nutritious value of the ingredients used in the activity ‘Healthy Platter’. Students of class III to V engaged themselves in varied poster making activities covering the theme ‘Eat Safe Eat Healthy’. In classes VI to VIII a video presentation was shown followed by teachers’ interaction and discussion. Thus, the day delivered a fair and clear message to all, “Zero hunger, Zero Wastage; For the People, For the Planet!”
